Combine the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until the drink is sufficiently chilled. Strain the drink into the chilled Cocktail glass.

Notes

Created at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba in Havana c. 1930 — one of the grand Art Deco hotels that attracted celebrities and politicians during Cuba's golden era. The apricot liqueur adds stone-fruit sweetness that bridges the tropical pineapple and the rum.
