Combina los ingredientes en una coctelera llena de hielo. Agite vigorosamente hasta que la bebida esté lo suficientemente fría. Cuela la bebida en el vaso Cocktail frío. Decorar con el/la Cáscara de naranja.

The Bronx is essentially a Martini with orange juice added. It was ranked number three in "The World's 10 Most Famous Cocktails in 1934" behind the Martini (#1) and the Manhattan (#2). In the movie "The Thin Man" 1934, the lead actor (William Powell) compared the methods for shaking the Manhattan, Bronx, and Martini.

Bill W., the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, said that his first drink of alcohol that he could remember was the "Bronx cocktail", given to him by a "socialite" at a party during World War I. This was the beginning of his addiction to alcohol.

Bronx origin story

Two sources credit Joseph S. Sormani as the person responsible for the drink.

The Bronx Cocktail, strange to say, was invented in Philadelphia, of all places! There it might have remained in obscurity had it not been for one Joseph Sormani, a Bronx restaurateur, who discovered it in the Quaker City in 1905. The original recipe has been greatly distorted in the course of years, but here is the original to guide you and to compare with the other recipes being used: Four parts of gin, one part of orange juice and one part of Italian Vermouth. Shake thoroughly in ice and serve.

Sormani was credited with creating the drink in his New York Times obituary:

Joseph S. Sormani, retired Bronx restaurateur, who was said to have originated the Bronx cocktail, died Wednesday night in his home, 2322 Fish Avenue, the Bronx, after a brief illness. His age was 83.

Ginebra: La ginebra es una bebida alcohólica destilada que posee un sabor predominante a nebrinas, los frutos del enebro (Juniperus communis). La ginebra es una de las categorías de destilados más amplia, con diversas regiones de producción, estilos y perfiles de sabor, que tienen en común las gálbulas o nebrinas de enebro. Desde sus orígenes más tempranos en la Edad Media, la bebida ha evolucionado de una medicina herbal a un objeto de comercio en la industria de los licores espirituosos. La ginebra se desarrolló a partir del destilado neerlandés "Jenever" y se hizo popular en Gran Bretaña (particularmente en Londres) cuando Guillermo de Orange se convirtió en el rey Guillermo III de Inglaterra.
