Sweeter than basic simple syrup, rich simple syrup doubles the amount of sugar for a 2:1 ratio of granulated sugar to water.
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat (do not let the water boil) and stir until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, let cool to room temperature and transfer to a clean glass jar. Cover and keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
